Metropolitan Market Cooks for You

Metropolitan Market has many items for your Thanksgiving.  Last night I attended a special tasting of their Thanksgiving offerings both food and wine.  I have a few favorites.  Unfortunately the lighting didn’t work so well for my camera so be sure to read below.
Look for their handbook in-store for a quick guide while shopping in their six area Seattle/Tacoma locations.
Many of their prepared foods are gluten free, be sure to inquire.
The turkey was excellent!  Though the photo below doesn’t do it justice.
It was a Mary’s Heritage Turkey which are allowed to jump and fly which means bigger more flavorful legs than most birds and they cook a bit faster to save you time.

 

Wine Pairings

Savoureaux 2010 Pinot Noir

My favorites were the Savoureaux 2010 Pinot Noir described as “a parade of vivid dark fruit, dried savory herbs, and a touch of cracked pepper at the finish”.  It’s the kind of Pinot I like, the kind of Pinot with some heft to it.

Sheffield Cider Vintage Dry was my fav

The non-alcoholic Sheffield Cider was also excellent.  And I didn’t have time to try the Met Market White but I  like their Red so my guess is it’s a good quality white for a good price.
