Love Trader Joe’s #1
I am happy to have found a few new items in Trader Joe’s recently.
Last year I revisited Suzanne Goin –she is a contributing chef to my book Cooking Gluten-Free!, a talented chef, and the source of one of our favorite meals: grilled halibut with herb salad and meyer lemon green olive salsa.
It is everything the recipe title states and more. Most importantly this dinner generates sounds of extraordinary contentment from your dinner guests! I have had to substitute the olives with some from Argentina since I was unable to find Lucques olives but now……Trader Joe’s is carrying these meaty olives from the Languedoc region of Southern France!!
The Languedoc is also an up and coming area for many good reasonably priced wines. Often the food and wine of a region go quite well together, keep your eyes open for these wines and try them with Lucques olives–those from Corbières are similar to Rhone wines using Carignan, Mourvedre, Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault grapes.
And definately don’t deny yourself the pleasure of eating Suzanne’s fantastic dinner.
